A Busy Month…

A Busy Month…

The winter is milder than any I can remember since moving to Korea. It has snowed twice, but any evidence of the brief flurry was gone nin hours, much to the chagrin of my children. But despite the dreary weather, the short days, and the devil on my shoulder urging me to stay in the confines of my warm bed a little longer, I have actually gotten quite a lot done.

I’ve read three books.

‘Before the Coffee Gets Cold’ was a delightful read. By Toshikazu Kawaguchi, the book details an old cafe in Japan that allows people to travel back in time (and forward, though few are interesting in that opportunity). Among the many catches, the biggest is that you must return before your coffee gets cold. It was a short read, but I definitely recommend it.

A less jolly read was ‘Why I  Write’ but George Orwell. Honestly, it is less about his writing and more about his politics. However, it was extremely interesting to read his thoughts on the dynamis of British politics while in the throws of World War 2. In fact, it felt strangely prescient to the current condition of the US and the world today.

Lastly, I’m just finishing up ‘Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982’. Cho Nam-ju details the life of a woman born in 1982, describing her life through the lens of the struggles of women through the years. As my wife is Korean, this has taught me a few things about her own personal history.

Besides just reading, I’ve actually just finished another project as well. Allow me to introduce you to Epubsy.com.

Epubsy is made to help self-publishing authors by providing an affordable way to creatively convert their DOCX files into the EPUB files they will need to publish their ebooks. In addition, an AI-powered analysis provides all the little details they will need to fill out all the boxes when uploading their books to Amazon. Things like a summary, categories, keywords, etc.

So, what’s next. Well, I have my eye on another goal already. But you’ll just have to wait and see what I come up with. Until next time!
